This activity is designed for vascular surgeons, endocrinologists, podiatrists, nurses, primary care physicians, wound care specialists and diabetic educators.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- describe new concepts in the pathogenesis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy
- explain the role of endothelial dysfunction and how it can be manipulated
- demonstrate the remittive qualities of L-Methylfolate, pyridoxal-5-phosphate and methylcobalamin
- discuss theoretical maintenance “neural steady-state”
- review the role of homocystine in the ideology of diabetic neuropathy
- review the pharmacological agents for reduction of homocystine level
