Target Audience

Physicians, nurses and technologists who treat patients with contrast induced nephropathy

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Define contrast induced nephropathy.
  • Describe patients who are at high risk for contrast induced nephropathy and explain what factors lead to that risk.
  • Summarize the clinical trial data involving hydration protocols for patients at risk for CIN.
  • Develop treatment strategies to prevent contrast induced nephropathy.
  • Implement a treatment algorithm for patients at low, moderate and high risk for contrast induced nephropathy before, during and post-procedure.
