Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Understand the economic and social impact of diabetic peripheral neuropathy
- Distinguish between positive and negative symptoms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy
- Describe the concept of remittive vs. palliative therapy in the management of diabetic peripheral neuropathy .
- Discuss the role of elevated homocysteine levels and diabetic peripheral neuropathy
- Describe the potential mechanism of action of a novel pharmacologic agent in the management of symptomatic diabetic peripheral neuropathy
