Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, podiatrists, pharmacists, and nurses who treat patients with wounds.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify a dysfunctional extracellular matrix (ECM) and outline how a dysfunctional ECM disturbs the wound healing process
- Review scientific data and clinical studies regarding contributions of ECM components on angiogenesis, growth factor secretion, and effects of SIS on the wound healing process
- Evaluate clinical cases for ECM use to facilitate healing of a wound with an improper or dysfunctional natural ECM
Activity Overview
The accredited activity includes a series of 10 live meetings at wound care clinics around the country. A faculty presenter, expert in the area of wound care, will deliver the 1-hour interactive presentation. Select sessions will also be broadcast in real time over the Internet for individuals from other cities and states who wish to participate in the activity via the Web and ask questions via live chat.
To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the full session and complete an evaluation form. After successful completion of the evaluation form online at http://www.naccme.com/program/2010-369/post/, participants may immediately print their documentation of credit.
All individuals who participated in the activity must complete and submit the online evaluation form within 2 weeks after the date of the activity to receive documentation of credit.
