Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Assess the impact of fibromyalgia on patient health and healthcare resource utilization
  • Recognize fibromyalgia diagnosis and treatment according to predominant symptoms, the ACR 1990 criteria, and EULAR recommendations
  • Outline the benefits and limitations of traditional and newer treatments for fibromyalgia, including pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic strategies
  • Implement patient-centered, evidence-based treatment algorithms to improve patient health and optimize healthcare resource allocation

This slide lecture with audio is presented by Don L. Goldenberg, MD, and William J. Cardarelli, PharmD for a managed care audience and by Don L. Goldenberg, MD, and Joanne Borg-Stein, MD for a primary care audience.
